Musicians will pay tribute to Parvin Begum, Ustad Abdul Khader Khan and Pt. Basavaraj Bendigeri at a music programme organised in their memory in Dharwad on Sunday.
The Parvin Begum Memorial Trust has organised the event which will be held at 5.30 p.m. on Sunday at Srujana Rangamandir in Dharwad.
Addressing presspersons in Dharwad on Friday, sarod maestro Ustad Fayaz Khan said vocalist Bhargavi Kulkarni, sarangi exponent Ustad Dilshad Khan and vocalist Pt. Dhananjay Hegde will perform. They would be accompanied by Shrihari Diggavi (tabla), Sarfraz Khan(Sarangi), Ravindra Yavagal (tabla), Ustad Nissar Ahmed (tabla) and Sarfraz Khan (sarod).
Book release
A book titled ‘Sarangi Naadada Benneri’ authored by journalist and writer Ganesh Amingad and C.B. Chilkaragi will be released on the occasion, he said.
Deputy Leader of Opposition in Assembly Arvind Bellad, violinist B.S. Math, former director of AIR Dharwad C.U. Bellakki and Soubhagya Kulkarni will be the chief guests for the inauguration of the music programme.
