Amid the ongoing rift in the Malayalam film industry, Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian has said that members of the cinema fraternity should resolve their disputes among themselves.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Mr. Cherian said that controversies would strengthen the film industry and that good ideas often emerge when different perspectives collide. “Around 250 Malayalam films are released every year. Not all films will be profitable, but what matters is the production of quality movies. The government will provide support for that,” he said.
Stating that no one can be silenced, the Minister said that representatives from various organisations would attend the upcoming film conclave where discussions on the film policy would be held.
