Minister for Labour Welfare Santosh Lad took an accident victim to hospital in his car at Lokapur in Bagalkot district on Friday (February 7, 2025).
Satish Venkappa Madar was riding behind a tractor when he lost control of his bike and fell down. He had sustained injuries. A crowd gathered around him and shifted him to the side of the road. Mr. Madar, who was in immense pain, urged people to take him to a doctor. However, there was no ambulance or vehicle nearby.
The Minister, who was travelling on that route to Jamkhandi, saw the commotion and decided to shift the victim to hospital.
The injured was given first aid at the Lokapur primary health centre and then shifted to Bagalkot district hospital for advanced treatment. The Minister stayed till the first aid was completed. He thanked doctors and staff for their care and concern. “I salute you for your service,” Mr. Lad told them.
He also advised Mr. Madar to be careful in future. The victim’s relatives and Lokapur residents thanked the Minister and appreciated his gesture.
