Labour Minister and district-in-charge of Dharwad Santosh Lad has assured to get a mega exhibition centre sanctioned for Hubballi-Dharwad after taking up the issue with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Inaugurating the ‘DG Photo Exposition’ organised by Hubballi Photographers and Videographers’ Association at Vasavi Mahal in Hubballi on Saturday, he said that the twin cities required a mega exhibition centre and he would make all efforts to get it sanctioned. The Minister said that adaption of new technological tools would help professionals in coming out with better products and consequently help in improving their profession.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Arvind Bellad said that photographers and videographers were memorable as they helped in keeping memories alive through their work. He lauded the initiative of the association to honour the seniors in the profession.
The president of the association Kiran Bakale said that it was the seventh such exposition being conducted in Hubballi and spoke on how it had been helping photographers from the region. He thanked the Minister for his assurance on providing space for setting up an office for the association.
On the occasion, secretary Ravindra Katiger submitted a memorandum on behalf of the Association to the Minister. Several senior photographers were honoured with ‘Uttara Karnataka Chaya Ratna’ award. Photographers from across North Karnataka are participating in the two-day exposition in which technical advances in the field of photography and videography are being showcased.
