The 16th edition of graVITas, the annual international techno-management fest of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), will be held at its campus in Vellore from September 26, said G. Viswanathan, founder-chancellor of the institute.

Addressing mediaperons here, Mr. Viswanathan said that the three-day event, which will end on September 28, will be conducted under the theme “Sustainable Tomorrow, Shaped Today”. The event continues VIT’s tradition of fostering innovation and excellence, serving as a platform where students from across India and around the world come together to showcase their exceptional talents and cutting-edge innovations.

The graVITas’25 will feature 207 events in total, comprising 147 events under graVITas’25 and 60 exciting pre-graVITas’25 events. Over 84 brand new events alongside all-time-favorites like Robowars, SAE Drone Racing League, Aerodominator, Go-Karting, and hackathons including Code2Create 6.0, Dev Jams, Celestia, CookOff 10.0, and CodeXcape.

The highlight of graVITas’25 lies in its spectacular ProShows, featuring a never-before-seen Air Show by VIT students, a Drone Show by Botzlab Dynamics, and mesmerizing performances such as Splendera, a dazzling LED dance act along with mime, and laser shows by both student performers and professional troupes.

A Career Expo will also debut this year to help non-VIT students and winners of a few hackathons, providing a bridge between talent and opportunity. Winners of technical competitions will also be getting internship offers as their prize.

Over 40,000 participants are expected at the three-day event. Prize pool for graVITas’25 exceeds ₹30 lakhs, including cash and in kind prizes. Over 60 industry experts and professionals will serve as resource persons across workshops and seminars, making graVITas’25 a hub of mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and innovation.

Majed Ali Al Mansoori, secretary general of Emirates Falconers Club and Chairman of Municipality Affairs, Abu Dhabi, and Sharath Kumar Bache Gowda, MLA for Hoskote assembly constituency in Karnataka and Chairman, Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS) will be the chief guests for the inaugural and valedictory sessions respectively, he said.
