Patients who recovered from injuries leaving by the special bus arranged by the Tirupati district administration on January 10, 2025.
It was bon voyage time for the patients who recovered from the injuries they suffered during the stampede at a counter meant for issuing tokens for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan on January 8, 2025 (Wednesday).
During his visit to SVIMS hospital on January 9, 2025 (Thursday), Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had promised to the patients that the government would arrange them darshan and also take care of their transportation back home.
As promised, the district administration arranged special buses to various destinations to drop the patients and their relatives home.
Thirty-two patients fully recovered from their injuries and were discharged from SVIMS hospital on January 10, 2025. Five grievously injured patients were still undergoing treatment, and their condition was stated to be stable.
The recovered patients had darshan at Tirumala and even walked through the sacred threshold, ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’, on the auspicious ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’.
After darshan, the devotees boarded the special buses arranged for destinations such as Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Kadapa, Hyderabad, and Tiruppur and Coimbatore (both Tamil Nadu).
Collector S. Venkateswar and Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) Commissioner N. Mourya personally greeted the passengers and bid them a warm farewell.
The Collector learnt about their health condition and also asked the patients not to worry about their medical expenses, adding that it would be taken care of.
A Revenue Department official accompanied the passengers to ensure them a safe journey back home.
The devotees thanked the authorities for not only providing them the much sought-after darshan, but also arranging them transportation to their respective destinations.
