More than 2.79 crore students, teachers and parents from the country and abroad have registered for the eighth edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s annual programme ahead of the board examinations, Pariksha Pe Charcha. The Union Education Ministry said in a release here on Thursday (January 9, 2024) that the turnout is expected to set a record this year and the popularity of the programme to “transform exam-related stress into a festival of learning and celebration” is increasing. “This remarkable response underscores the growing resonance of the programme as a true Jan Andolan,” the Ministry said in the release.

The online registration, hosted on the MyGov.in portal, started on December 14, 2024 and will remain open until January 14. “The programme’s immense popularity highlights its success in addressing the mental well-being of students and fostering a positive outlook towards examinations,” it added.

The interactive event of students with Mr. Modi, organised annually by the Ministry’s Department of School Education and Literacy, will be held at Bharat Mandapam here in a town hall format.

As part of the programme this year, the Ministry has organised indigenous games sessions, marathon runs, meme competitions, street theatre, yoga-cum-meditation sessions and mental health workshops and counselling sessions. “Through these activities, Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 reinforces its message of resilience, positivity, and joy in learning, ensuring that education is celebrated as a journey rather than a pressure-driven task,” the Ministry said.
