Young men who came to see the sunrise to the Khajaguda hillock discovered the grisly sight of a double murder on Tuesday (January 14, 2025) morning. Initially, a man’s body was discovered. Later, the body of a woman who was bludgeoned to death was discovered in Puppalguda area.
The bodies were found 60 metres apart in an open land near the Ananta Padmanabha Swamy temple on the hillock. After preliminary investigation, the police are suspecting that the woman was sexually assaulted before she was killed and the faces smashed with the boulder in an attempt to conceal the identities.
Rajendranagar DCP Ch. Srinivas said it is suspected that they were murdered on the intervening night of January 13 and 14. The couple appeared to be in their 30s and possibly killed due to vengeance, the official said.
The police are yet to identify the two as of 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
After being alerted by locals who came to the hillock to see the sunrise, the police along with the Clues Team reached the spot and initiated investigation into the matter.
A case has been booked.
