A house on Kadugodi Main Road was gutted in an accidental fire that broke out in a fridge on Monday. No one was injured in the incident.
According to Fire and Emergency Services personnel, there were three women in the house at the time of incident who tried to put the fire out but they were unable to contain it and ran out to safety. The fire soon spread and destroyed furniture.
The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire. They said residents had purchased a second hand fridge that caught fire.
The officials suspect that overheating led to the fire. However, they are trying to ascertain the exact cause.
Car catches fire
In another incident, a car parked near Lalbagh metro station caught fire on Monday evening. A bike parked close to the car was also damaged in the fire.
