Beheaded body of young woman found in a suitcase in Haryana’s Faridabad

A beheaded body of a young woman was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Haryana’s Faridabad on Wednesday. The police said efforts were being made to identify the deceased.

The body was packed inside a sack before being stuffed in a suitcase and dumped on the roadside in Faridabad’s Kheri Pul police station area. It was recovered after a passer-by spotted a red suitcase with a swarm of flies hovering around it causing suspicion and informed a Home Guard, who in turn called the Police Control Room around noon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Faridabad Central, Usha Devi told The Hindu over phone that the body was badly decomposed and appeared to be five to seven days old. Ms. Devi said the deceased appeared to be in her late 20s and the body was sent for post-mortem to ascertain the details about the victim and the murder.

The road along which the body was found leads to Kalindi Kunj in Delhi, said the woman police officer, adding that the police had alerted the neighbouring police stations seeking details of the missing persons. She said the footage of the closed-circuit television cameras near the spot was also being scrutinised for any possible clue.

In a copycat case, the body of a young woman, later identified as Congress worker Himani Narwal, was found inside a suitcase near Sampla bus stand in Rohtak. Two days later, the police arrested her friend Sachin, 30, a mobile repair shop owner, in connection with the murder.
