ACB finds assets worth ₹4.04 crore linked to Warangal Deputy Transport Commissioner Puppala Srinivas

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked a case against Puppala Srinivas, Deputy Transport Commissioner of Warangal district, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices. The bureau seized movable and immovable properties worth ₹4.04 crore during the preliminary searches conducted at his residence and five other locations linked to him and his relatives on Friday (February 7).

The officials uncovered property documents for houses, open plots, and agricultural lands, including three house documents worth ₹2.79 crore, sixteen open plot documents valued at ₹13.57 lakh and records of 15 acres and 20 guntas of agricultural land worth ₹14.04 lakh. The ACB said that the market value of these assets is likely significantly higher than the documented figures.

In addition to immovable properties, investigators discovered a bank balance of ₹5.85 lakh, household items worth ₹22.85 lakh and four vehicles, including three four-wheelers, valued at ₹43.80 lakh. Gold ornaments weighing approximately 1,542.8 grams worth ₹19.55 lakh and silver ornaments weighing around 400 grams valued at ₹28,000 were also seized. Furthermore, 23 bottles of illicit foreign liquor worth ₹5.29 lakh were found, prompting a separate case registered by the Shankarpally Excise police.

Further verification of additional assets is ongoing. Following the seizure, the accused official was arrested and produced in the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. Investigation is underway.
