Three members of a gang who were stealing two-wheelers were arrested by the police in Kovur town of SPSR Nellore district on Wednesday (September 24). The officials seized 10 stolen motorcycles, including high-end models, all valued at nearly ₹9 lakh.
Addressing the media, Kovur CI Sudhakar Reddy said, the arrested youngsters were Sagar, Suhan Babu and Adarsh Govind. The gang of thieves was exposed during the interrogation of Sagar who was caught while doing stunts on NH-16 on Saturday (September 20).
According to the police, the night patrolling team arrested Sagar who was doing bike stunts causing disruption to the traffic on the highway. He was immediately taken into custody. On questioning further, several sensational things came to light.
Sagar confessed that he had targeted isolated bikes and committed a series of thefts along with his friends Suhan Babu and Adarsh Govind. A case was registered, and the Kovur police team traced the culprits. Three accused have been remanded to judicial custody and further investigation is on.
