Karun Chandhok debuts ‘Drive to Victory’, a book on Formula One

Former Formula One driver Karun Chandhok has come up with debut book ‘Drive to Victory’, introducing young fans to the fast-paced world of F1, the pinnacle of single-seater motorsports. Chandhok, the second Indian to drive in F1, is currently a renowned commentator working for Sky Sports in the UK and travels to races worldwide.

“Growing up here, I depended on Autosport, which used to come a few weeks late to know about the sport. But now, after Netflix’s Drive to Survive, there has been a huge interest in F1, and they have access to all the latest news. But at the same time, many don’t know about the rich history and names like Michael Schumacher. When I go to races, fans don’t recognise some great drivers and past champions who are at the circuits. So the book is an attempt to introduce the new fans to the sport’s history and interesting trivia about cars, race tracks and more,” said Chandhok on Sunday.

“I wrote this book during my flight travels last year, and it is written in a way accessible to young kids. I was inspired to write it based on the questions my son asks me watching the races,” added the 41-year-old, who held book signing events in the city at Higginbothams and Odyssey stores.
