SMS Pharma’s Vizag plant receives WHO prequalification

SMS Pharmaceuticals’ manufacturing (Unit VII) facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has received prequalification approval from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Apart from enhancing the company’s global regulatory standing, the pre-qualification will enable it to increase presence in the global market for anti-retroviral (ARV) active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), the company said on Friday.

API and intermediates for global customers is the focus of SMS Pharmaceuticals, which operates two manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and Vizag, with capacities of 120 KL and 3,000 KL respectively.
