Trainer Pesi Shroff’s classic filly Psychic Star, ridden by Vivek G, won the JSK1 Indian 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1), the first Classic of the Mumbai racing season here on Sunday, December 15. The winner is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke, Mrs. Liane Luthria & Miss. Ameeta Mehra.
Vivek showed the same tactics which he had employed in the Hyderabad 1000 Guineas, expertly settling his mount in the sixth position through the early stages of the race.
As the field swept into the home stretch, this champion daughter of Multitude and Psychic Light displayed her class with a breathtaking surge, shot into the lead, and drew away to an emphatic victory of four lengths to give Vivek his maiden triumph in an Indian Classic.
