Princess Kate ‘reassuring’ Mother’s Day image ‘done completely opposite’, says royal biographer

Piers Morgan has issued a fierce defence of the ”royal rock star Kate” following a week of frenzied public attention.

The Princess of Wales has been subject to wild conspiracy theories over her withdrawal from public life as she recovers from abdominal surgery which she underwent in January.

Kate Middleton is now the biggest star in the Royal Family and has become a crown jewel who must be protected at all costs,” Mr Morgan wrote in The Sun.

The former Talk TV host’s intervention came as Archbishop Justin Welby warned that society was becoming  “obsessed with conspiracy” as he criticised those speculating about Kate’s health.

“We have little sense of the humanity of those who are caught in the glare of the news,” he said.

Kate is understood to be easing back into normal life by focusing on her campaign dedicated to improving the lives of newborn babies after having surgery in January.

It was revealed this week that three people have been suspended for allegedly accessing the Princess of Wales’s medical records while she was a patient at The London Clinic.

Famous roast beef and whole rabbits for £20: Inside Windsor farm shop at centre of Kate and William conspiracy

A farm shop that sells organic asparagus and pricey pate became the unlikely centre of a media storm this week.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were spotted, shopping bags in hand, in footage filmed by a passerby through his car window in Windsor on Saturday. It was the first time Kate had been seen on camera since she underwent surgery for undisclosed reasons in January.

The lack of information from the royals about her health has sent the unhealthier side of the internet into overdrive, with speculation and suspicion compounded by a previous admission that a family photo the princess had released on Mother’s Day had been doctored.

Archbishop of Canterbury issues warning over spread of Kate Middleton conspiracy theories: ‘Extremely unhealthy’

The Archbishop of Canterbury has joined a growing chorus of voices urging more privacy for the Princess of Wales as she continues to recover from surgery.

Justin Welby branded the conspiracy theories surrounding Kate during her absence from the public eye as “old-fashioned village gossip” and said people who have health concerns should be allowed “to live their lives in peace”.

“We are obsessed with conspiracy and we have little sense of the humanity of those who are caught in the glare of the news,” he told Times Radio. “It doesn’t matter who it is, people should be allowed to be ill, have an operation, whatever it is, and to live their lives in peace without everyone demanding that they prove something every other day.”
