‘Patriot’ title teaser: Mammootty and Mohanlal’s much-anticipated Malayalam collab

The wait has ended for movie buffs as they have finally got a sneak peek into the much-awaited coming together of the two legends of Indian cinema – Mammootty and Mohanlal. The title teaser of their new Malayalam movie, Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan dropped on Tuesday, sending the social media into overdrive.

Their last film together was Twenty:20 released in 2008, although they had played small roles in each other’s films after that.

Patriot has a star-studded ensemble, which include Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara and Darshana Rajendran. Among other actors are Revathy, Zarin Shihab and cinematographer-director Rajiv Menon.

The visuals do not give away much about the plot but definitely points at a high-octane gripping tale with political undertones.

The release date has not been announced yet since the shoot is still on. The project got stalled after Mammootty had gone on a break due to medical reasons. He joined the Hyderabad schedule of the project on October 1.

Produced by Anto Joseph and KG Anil Kumar, the movie is scripted by Mahesh and has music by Sushin Shyam. Cinematographer is Manush Nandan. Mahesh is the editor along with Rahul Radhakrishnan. That the film has four stunt choreographers hints at an action-packed narrative.
