The Mission For Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) has entered into partnerships with the ONDC, MyStore, and HomeTriangle to market products prepared by the urban Self Help Groups (SHGs).
At a meeting in Vijayawada on December 7, Saturday, MEPMA Director N. Tej Bharat said the MoU with e-commerce giants would ensure socio-economic growth for the underrepresented communities.
He said as part of the MoU, products made by SHGs would be identified. Later, the community members would be provided skill training.
The MoU is in line with the Andhra Pradesh government’s motto of ‘One entrepreneur per family’, he said, adding that steps would be taken to ensure that every community member benefits from the MoU.
Their talent would be identified and then upskilling would be done for them to ensure that they earn higher income.
Mr. Tej Bharat said they would identify the members with business acumen and encourage them to start their own ventures.
SHG products can be promoted through e-commerce platforms, he said, while explaining about the efforts takenbakh the MEPMA.
The MEPMA Director highlighted the efforts made in mobilising 28,77,019 women across 123 municipalities through 2.79 lakh societies, aiming for zero poverty and economic empowerment.
The MoUs will enable better marketing opportunities for SHG products through e-commerce platforms and provide skill development for members to boost income and employment, he said.
