A woman in the United States has grabbed attention with her claim of being a “real-life vampire.” Hellen Schweizer, known to her followers on social media as “Vampire Hellie,” has become a viral sensation. At the age of 29 years, she has embraced a lifestyle that involves feeding on the energy of humans and adopting the aesthetics often associated with vampires, including wearing cloaks and fangs.

She dreamed of being a vampire!

A native of Ohio in the midwestern US, Hellie has been always drawn into the idea of vampirism since her early years.Although these interests were not encouraged by her religious household, the fascination did not stop there; it became stronger with time. As she learned the lore and practices of vampirism, she started to pursue it in her lifestyle. According to her, Hellie dodges daylight since sunshine drains out her energy leaving her nauseous, irritable, and dizzy.

In an interview with The Mirror, Hellie shared her journey and the evolution of her unique lifestyle. According to reports, she said that she was interested in vampires from a young age, but because she grew up in a religious household, she was not encouraged. Her transformation began as a form of cosplay on TikTok, where she enjoyed dressing up and content creation for her followers. Over time, this hobby turned into a deeper dive into the exploration of what vampirism means to her.

Not blood but energy!

Reportedly, Hellie distinguishes herself from fictional vampires by explaining that she doesn’t literally drink blood to sustain herself. Instead, she claims to “feed on people’s energy”. For her, she feeds off energy. Not in the sense of sucking the energy out of a room, but in a spiritual sense. She says that energy is present everywhere, and because she claims that she doesn’t have any energy of her own, she needs help from her friends.
Hellie is popular on social media networks because of her lifestyle. She always shares live videos in which she whispers and just presents different kinds of scenarios, like, “What would you do if this vampire came into your house” when she is in some kind of costume. Her followers are overwhelmed by her and she has a huge fan base that appreciates the authenticity and commitment she shows for her chosen lifestyle.
Her story has attracted the interest in her fans, through which the people construct and then present identities and beliefs. Hellie’s transformation from an interested little girl to a claimed real-life vampire highlights the, deeply personal routes people pursue when searching for their true selves.
