A high-level delegation from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development visited the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) office in Bengaluru on December 2 to take a look at its inclusive mobility efforts. The visitors included officials from the German embassy and GIZ (German Corporation for International Cooperation).
The team experienced Dhwani Spandana–OnBoard, an assistive audio-navigation system that enhances bus accessibility for visually impaired commuters.
KSRTC Managing Director Akram Pasha briefed the visitors and highlighted the project’s national award. Developed by the Raised Lines Foundation and scaled with GIZ under the Green Urban Mobility Innovation initiative, the system is already in use on KSRTC and Mysuru city buses.
The German delegation, led by Director General Christine Toetzke, praised KSRTC’s leadership in adopting innovative and user-centric transport technologies.
