Intelligence agencies questioning five Bangladeshi nationals detained for trying to enter Red Fort on Monday (August 4, 2025).
A senior official confirmed that five persons aged 20-25 years were stopped by security staff deployed around Red Fort access control.
“A group of suspicious people were stopped when they are trying to enter inside the Red Fort area. On being questioned, they were found to be of Bangladesh nationals staying illegally in the country,” confirmed the official.
The official added that they didn’t have valid pass to enter. On enquiry, they were found to be Bangladeshi nationals who illegally came to India some 3-4 months ago. They were working as labourers in Delhi. They came to see Red Fort as they were not aware that Red Fort is closed for public since 15th July. Bangladeshi documents were found with them.
On interrogation, nothing suspicious could be found. They have been questioned by Intelligence Bureau and other security agencies as preparation for Independence day is underway and security has been beefed up in and around Red Fort.
The Foreign Regional Registration Office has been informed about the person detained. They will be deported as per law.
