A fire accident occurred in two coaches of Train No. 18189 Tatanagar-Ernakulam Junction Super Fast Express, in the wee hours of Monday (December 29, 2025) near Yelamanchili Railway station in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh.

According to South Central Railway officials coach number B-1 and M-2 were engulfed in fire and were badly damaged, but fortunately there were no casualties. However, unconfirmed sources say that one person was charred to death.

As per the railway officials, the fire accident occurred around 1:11 a.m. on the train. Upon noticing the fire, the officials present immediately alerted the fire department. A couple of fire tenders reached the spot immediately and were seen extinguishing the fire until the last reports came in. Officials also stated that there were no casualties, according to the initial reports, but both coaches were gutted.

Senior railway officials have rushed to the spot and are monitoring the operation. Both the coaches have been detached from the train.

A senior official at the scene stated that the fire was huge, and further investigation is underway to determine if there are any casualties and to identify the cause of the fire.
