Samay Raina sends love to Kusha Kapila from ‘India’s Got Latent’ stage months after the controversial roast | – The Times of India

Indian comic Samay Raina’s popularity with his latest show ‘India’s Got Latent’ has reached another level. On the one hand, where his dark humor is certainly one of the main reasons, on the other hand, the guests he calls on his show add to the fame. On top of that, recently, a controversy sparked due to an offensive comment made by a contestant to keep the show and Samay Raina in the news. Interestingly, controversies and Samay have a very deep bond, as the internet has still not forgotten the time when the comedian’s brutal roast of actress Kusha Kapila raised eyebrows. And now months after the same, Samay recently gave a shoutout to Kusha at ‘Latent’

Samay Raina mentions Kusha Kapila at ‘India’s Got Latent’

As aforementioned, with every episode, a few new guests are invited to join the pane. In the latest episode Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and The Rebel Kid AKA Apoorva Makhija were the guest panelists. As the format goes, Samay gave an introduction to the audience of all the guests, and while introducing Apoorva, he joked, “Prajakta Koli from Meesho.” Apoorva known for her quick comebacks, responded, “Prajakta Koli will never abuse you to your face.” Without wasting time, Samay then fired back, saying, “Yes, but Kusha Kapila would.” And then, he added “Love you, Kusha yaar,” at the end.

Samay Raina, Kusha Kapila, and the ‘Pretty Good Roast’

In one of the episodes of comedian Ashish Solanki’s ‘Pretty Good Roast Show’ Season 1, Kusha appeared as a guest. As per the format, everyone took their turn roasting Kusha, but Samay’s jokes targeting her marriage and divorce from Zorawar took the show on a nasty point.
Most of Samay Raina’s part was muted on the show owing to the offensive nature. One of the jokes, which still made the cut and was widely circulated on the internet had Samay calling Kusha a “gold-digger.”
“Kusha has a female dog, who stays with her half the time, and during the other half, remains happy. Just give the dog to Zorawar. Let him have at least one b**ch in his life,” he joked in Hindi. A lot of people felt that a line was crossed in the name of roast.

Later, reacting to the converse, Kusha in a social media post wrote “Jokes weren’t shared beforehand (as is done in all roast formats in the West), so I had no idea what was in store for me. Maybe I should have asked for a script and known better, but since friends were involved, I didn’t. Rookie mistake. While I endured some of the really raspy jokes in front of a live audience and technicians, I absolutely was not okay with it being played for millions of people, since some jokes straight-up dehumanized me. It was shockingly unkind.”
Thereafter, she blocked Samay on social media. Now whether this little shoutout from Samay will patch things up between the two, is a question yet to be answered.
