Netflix India’s 2025 slate: Aryan Khan’s ‘The Bad***s of Bollywood, ’Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Jewel Thief’, Madhavan’s ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ and more


Netflix India today unveiled an exciting content slate for 2025 at the ‘Next on Netflix’ event in Mumbai. The star-studded event, held at the JW Marriott, Juhu, was attended by many A-list celebrities, including Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pedekar, R Madhavan, Rajkummar Rao, Siddharth, Sanya Malhotra, Venkatesh Daggubati, Saif Ali Khan, and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan among others.

Some of the biggest feature originals on the slate include Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, a heist thriller that marks a reunion between director Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan; Nadaaniyan, starring Saif’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan in his acting debut; Toaster, produced by Rajkummar Rao in his first production venture; and Aap Jaisa Koi, a heartwarming romantic drama starring R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Sheikh.

On the web series side, the streamer has announced some mega-projects with A-list actors and directors, the biggest being the series debut of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, whose show titled The Bad*** of Bollywood is set against the backdrop of the film industry.

Other notable series on the slate include Dabba Cartel, starring Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, and more; and Yash Raj Films’ Mandala Murders, starring Vaani Kapoor. Returning series titles include Delhi Crime Season 3, Kohrra Season 2, and Rana Naidu Season 2.

Non-fiction titles include Dining With The Kapoors, The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2, The Greatest Rivalry: India Vs Pakistan, The Roshans, and Vir Das Fool Volume.

Films –

1) Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins 

Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan are reuniting for a new Netflix original film. A global-trotting heist thriller, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in a pivotal role opposite Saif. The announcement teaser shows Saif and Jaideep teaming up to steal a prestigious diamond called Red Sun.

2) Aap Jaisa Koi

A heartwarming romantic drama that delves into the lives of two unique individuals, Shrirenu Tripathi and Madhu Bose, played by Fatima Sana Sheikh and R Madhavan. Aap Jaisa Koi, a romantic drama, brings together two opposites in an endearing tale of love and laughter. Directed by Karan Soni, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra.

3) Dhoom Dhaam

A romantic action thriller, featuring a mismatched couple, played by Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi. “On their wedding night, a timid momma’s boy and a daring wild child find themselves on the run from ruthless goons, finding love and chaos in a night of crazy adventures — all while searching for the elusive Charlie!” reads the logline. Written by Aditya Dhar, Aarsh Vora, Rishab Seth, the film is directed by Seth.

4) Nadaaniyan

A South Delhi diva, a middle-class overachiever boy, and one outrageous plan: Hire him as her fake boyfriend to save her squad. But when real feelings crash their party, can they handle the mess of falling in love? Nadaaniyan stars Khushi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, in his debut. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Misra, the film is directed by Shauna Gautam.

5) TEST

TEST stars Siddharth, R Madhavan and Nayanthara in the lead, and the film marks the directorial debut of S Shashikanth. “: “Life is a game! TEST is a story that mirrors how the drama of life and the battles we face mirror the intensity of sport. We are thrilled to have an ensemble of highly regarded actors like R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine and others, embodying each character with depth and emotion. A combination that has never been seen together before. 6) Toaster

A comedy-drama starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, Toaster is produced by Rajkummar’s wife, Partralekhaa’s production company, in its maiden venture. “ “As first-time producers stepping into production with Toaster has been an exhilarating experience. This film tells a quirky, layered story that masterfully blends humor, chaos, and unexpected twists. With a talented cast, including Sanya Malhotra, Abhishekh Bannerjee, Upendra Limaye, Seema Pahwa, Jitendra Joshi, and Archana Puran Singh the narrative navigates a complex web of secrets, and surprises — all centered around a seemingly ordinary toaster. As Kampa Film, we are thrilled to partner with Netflix, who share our passion for innovative storytelling, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience this unique and entertaining tale soon,” reads the plotline of the film directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary.

7) Akka

The Tamil original film stars Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte and Tanvi Azmi in the lead. “Set in the 1980s matriarchal society of a fictional city of Pernuru, South India, women reign supreme and power has a new name — Akka! Akka is the tale of gangster queens whose matriarchal rule is challenged when an outsider brings an unseen threat, spiraling the all-powerful sisterhood into a chaos storm of violence and survival,” reads the logline. The film is written and directed by Dharmaraj Shetty.

Series – 

1) Dabba Cartel

In VivaLife Society, men and women lead parallel lives — one caught in a pharma investigation, the other in drug peddling through a dabba delivery business. Dabba Cartel stars Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat. The show is created by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, Akanksha Seda.

2) Delhi Crime: Season 3

Shefali Shah and team return in the third season of Delhi Crime. “When the search for an injured baby’s missing mother unravels a massive human trafficking operation in India, DIG Vartika Chaturvedi faces the most challenging case of her career. Pitted against the ruthless trafficker Meena, Vartika and her team — Neeti, Bhupi, and the rest — must follow a trail of clues that leads them to uncover a vast trafficking network stretching far beyond India’s borders. As the investigation intensifies, the stakes rise, and the case becomes a defining moment for Madam Sir,” reads the plotline. Created by Tanuj Chopra, the show also features Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Huma Qureshi, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisth, and Jaya Bhattacharya.

3) Glory

Divyenndu, Pulkit Samrat, Suvinder Vicky star in the high-octane Glory. The plotline reads,”A brutal attack shatters a family. Raghubir Singh, a legendary boxing coach, is forced to reunite with his estranged sons, Dev and Ravi. Old grudges flare. Blood demands blood. While the ring waits, Olympic glory teeters on the edge. Vengeance has a cost and secrets won’t stay buried.” The show is created by Karan Anshuman and Karmanya Ahuja.

4) Khakee: The Bengal Chapter

Khakheer is returning with another season, this time featuring an ensemble including Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakroborty, and Shraddha Das. “In the Bengal of the early 2000s, where Gangsters and Politicians reign supreme, a decorated cop’s death paves the way for a fearless IPS Arjun Maitra — an unrelenting force ready to take on the chaos and restore justice,” writes the logline.

5) Kohrra Season 2

In Kohrra Season 2, a woman, separated from her husband, is found brutally murdered in her brother’s home and the case brings together the recently transferred Garundi with his new boss, the no-nonsense Dhanwant Kaur. But the two investigators soon realise that what’s as complicated as the case are the entanglements in their own personal lives. The series, written and created by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia and Sudip Sharma, stars Barun Sobti and Mona Singh in the lead.

6) Mandala Murders

Created by Gopi Puthran, Vaani Kapoor headlines Mandala Murders. “In the quaint, mysterious town of Charandaspur, where fate, myth, and murder entwine, detectives Rea Thomas and Vikram Singh unravel a chilling conspiracy of ritualistic killings tied to a centuries-old secret society. A land of dark prophecies blurs the lines between victims, survivors and truth-seekers in a haunting game of destiny,” reads the plotline.

7) Rana Naidu Season 2

Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati return for an andrenaline-pumping second season of Rana Naidu. “Rana Naidu embarks on one last job to secure his family’s future before getting out of the “fixing” business for good, but soon finds himself entangled in conflicts with his loved ones — and the looming threat of a ruthless underworld figure from his past,” reads the plotline. The series, created by Karan Anshuman, also stars Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbandha, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dino Morea.

8) Saare Jahan Se Accha

Pratik Gandhi headlined Saare Jahan Se Accha, created by Gauraav Shukla. “In the volatile 1970s, a resilient Indian spy must defeat his counterpart across the border in a battle of wits and tradecraft to sabotage a nuclear program,” reads the plotline. Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor and Anup Soni are also part of the cast.

9) Super Subbu

Sundeep Kishan and Mithila Palkar headline Netflix’s debut Telugu series. “Subbu, an unlucky young man, lands in a soup when he is assigned as an adult sex education teacher in a remote village called Makhipur. Amidst comedic chaos, Subbu must keep his job a secret from his strict, traditional father, survive the village, achieve his dreams and find true love, all while dealing with his own inexperience,” reads the logline. Created by Mallik Ram, the series also stars Murali Sharma and Maanasa Choudhary.

10) The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, is making his directorial debut with this series. “An ambitious outsider and his friends navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood. The series blends self-aware humor with a high-stakes narrative — and promises a host of unforgettable cameos, blockbuster thrills and an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema,” reads the show produced by Gauri Khan.

11) The Royals

Bhumi Pedekar and Ishaan Khatter headline The Royals. “When Aviraaj Singh, the polo-playing, pleasure-seeking, party prince, heir to the royal throne of Morpur, meets high-functioning, tightly wound, ace CEO Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, sparks and insults fly as they reluctantly come together to save his royally dysfunctional family from financial ruin and to save her own leading startup of luxury homestays in India from shark investment bankers. Two worlds, one of dwindling aristocracy, and the other of racing capitalism converge and throw up a whirlwind of clashing ambitions, steamy romance, and fashion-forward Instagrammable moments. The Royals is a breezy romcom served up with a side of dreamy palace life, under the blazing royal sun,” reads the logline. Documentaries – 

1) Dining With The Kapoors

Creator Armaan Jain takes us into the world of Bollywood’s most iconic family, where food, fun, legacy and film come together in a heartfelt and intimate showcase. “Seen through the eyes of the family members, this feel-good narrative aims to give fans and audiences a sneak peek into the Kapoor Khaandaan, their memories of growing up together, their love for food and the family’s relationship with cinema,” reads the logline. The cast includes Armaan Jain, Anissa Malhotra Jain, Aadar Jain, Rima Jain, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Bharat Sahni, Manoj Jain, Nitasha Nanda, Agastya Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda, Kunal Kapoor, Zahan Kapoor, Shaira Kapoor, Neila Kapoor, Jatin Prithviraj Kapoor, Kanchan Desai, Namita Kapur, and Pooja Desai.

2) The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3

Comedian Kapil Sharma brings desi fun to an all-new season featuring celebrity guests, side-splitting gags and a dash of classic Indian charm. Created by Anukalp Goswami, the show also stars Sunil Grover, Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur.

3) The Greatest Rivalry: India Vs Pakistan

There is nothing like cricket to raise emotions in India. But passion hits new heights when it’s a match between India and Pakistan! The Greatest Rivalry – India vs Pakistan chronicles the relationship between both countries, on and off-field. The docu-series is filled with emotions, cricketing action and humor as it presents two sides of a coin — the competitiveness and unlikely camaraderie shared between the two teams. Featuring legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, Shoaib Akhtar, Ravi Ashwin, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saurav Ganguly, and many others — dive into the greatest rivalry known to any cricket fan. The docu-series is directed by Chandradev Bhagat and Stewart Sugg.

4) The Roshans

The Roshans tells the definitive story of one of the most influential families in Indian cinema history. It begins with the late music composer Roshan, who started this journey and continues with his two sons Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan, who carried the legacy forward. The baton was then passed to the youngest Roshan, Hrithik Roshan, who became the heartthrob of the nation and continues to charm cinemagoers. The docuseries not only tells us about their hardship as a family in the film industry but also talks about their interpersonal dynamics and how they have always stood by each other through the lows and the highs. It features Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Asha Bhosle, and many more. The docu-series is directed by Shashi Ranjan.

5) Vir Das Fool Volume

Vir Das returns with yet another comedy special. “Should you talk about your happiness? Should it be protected? Or shared? This is a question everyone in the world is asking themselves. 6) WWE

Netflix will be the exclusive home of the WWE’s flagship weekly wrestling program in the US, Canada, UK, and Latin America, with additional countries and regions added over time.
