Dabang Delhi K.C. and Puneri Paltan, the two standout teams in the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League, will lock horns in the final at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Friday.
When they met in Qualifier 1 on Monday, Dabang Delhi, champion of the eighth edition, edged past Paltan 6-4 in a tiebreaker after the scores were locked 34–34 in regulation time. Led by Ashu Malik, the team from the national capital has shown grit in crunch moments.
Paltan, however, bounced back in style, winning Qualifier 2 against Telugu Titans to seal its third appearance in the final in four seasons. Under Aslam Inamdar’s leadership, Paltan has a very balanced squad at its disposal.
All three duels between these teams this season have required a tie-breaker. It suggests that another close contest is on the cards.
Dabang Delhi head coach Joginder Narwal said his team’s entry to the final is a result of belief and togetherness. “I’m extremely proud of this group – we’ve grown together. From the young players to the senior ones, everyone has stepped up. The way they’ve fought through challenges and stayed united makes me believe this team deserves every bit of success it gets,” Narwal said.
