Police arrested some BJP workers who tore posters with pictures of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a protest in Belagavi on March 24.
BJP workers began with a rasta roko protest at Kittur Channamma Circle against the suspension of BJP MLAs from the Assembly. The protestors, led by Subhash Patil and Geeta Sutar, charged towards a poster about the five guarantees of the State Government, which carried an image of the CM.
They tore up the bottom part of the poster before being stopped by the police. They were taken into custody and released later.
Some others continued the protest at the circle. Some marched to the office of the Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
