Three years after audiences last left Pandora, Director James Cameron returns with another gut-wrenching saga with a darker narrative coupled with grief, rage and conflict. Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third chapter in the sci-fi saga, picks up just weeks after The Way of Water, with Jake Sully and his family gearing up to face something even more dangerous as this time, Pandora burns.
The film expands the world of Pandora and introduces the hostile Na’vi clan known as the Mangkwan, or the Ash People – a volcanic-region tribe whose land was destroyed by an eruption.

They are led by Varang, played by Oona Chaplin. The character is expected to introduce a darker and more morally complex portrayal of the Na’vi, who have previously been depicted as living in harmony with nature.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is rated PG-13 and has a running time of three hours and 15 minutes.

According to early box office projections, the film could dominate its opening weekend, with an estimated worldwide collection estimated to range between USD 340 million to USD 380 million. While this total will still fall short of record opening of ‘The Way of Water’, it would still rank among the biggest openings of the year.

The ‘Avatar’ franchise remains one of the most successful box office blockbusters with the first film raking in a record USD 2.9 billion worldwide while the second earned approximately USD 2.3 billion globally.

Two additional Avatar films are currently in production.
