The Andhra Pradesh Unemployed JAC on Sunday (August 31, 2025) urged the government to postpone the Police Constable recruitment process till the completion of teacher recruitments through DSC appointments.
In a statement, the JAC State president S. Hemanth Kumar requested the authorities concerned to ensure that the unfilled posts are not carried forward or merged into backlog, as this could delay recruitment and cause some aspirants to lose eligibility due to age.
He said that many candidates had appeared for both DSC and Police Constable exams, with some qualifying in both. If candidates selected for DSC are given the option to surrender their Police Constable positions, those posts can be reallocated to waiting candidates through a transparent process (such as web note and unwilling letters), he said, adding that this would benefit both groups.
The JAC leader said that the matter should be discussed with the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) for effective resolution. He also appealed for an increase in the stipend for Police Constable trainees and said that the government should explore the possibilities of reinstating A.P. employees who were left behind in Telangana at the time of bifurcation.
