YSRCP slams Naidu’s ‘vindictive’ Governance; vows to fight back with renewed resolve

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Saturday (July 19, 2025) strongly condemned what it described as the “vindictive governance” of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of misusing power to target leaders close to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy through false cases.

Addressing the media on Saturday, former MLA Malladi Vishnu criticized the recent case filed against MP PV Mithun Reddy, calling it a “conspiracy” aimed at silencing voices from the Opposition. “This is part of a larger political vendetta to arrest those close to our leadership. But we will bounce back and expose Chandrababu Naidu’s bluff,” he asserted.

Mr. Vishnu added that the more vindictive the government’s actions become, the stronger the YSRCP’s determination grows to resist and highlight what it perceives as the failures and corruption of the ruling coalition. “There are already seven cases against Chandrababu Naidu, including one involving a liquor scam,” he pointed out.

Questioning the legal basis of the case against Mr. Mithun Reddy, he said, “The SIT could not provide any evidence in court linking Mithun Reddy to the liquor scam. No money has been seized, and no substantial proof has been presented. The TDP’s propaganda machinery is spinning baseless narratives to distract from its own scandals.”

Mr. Vishnu also alleged misuse of state machinery, referring to the heavy police deployment at Gannavaram airport, where supporters were not allowed to welcome MP Mithun Reddy. “This only reflects how power is being abused. Chandrababu’s history of conspiracies—from usurping power from NTR to today’s political targeting—is well known.”

He further criticized the government’s recent land policies, particularly the decision to allocate RTC land in Vijayawada to the Lulu Group at what he termed a “nominal” price. Calling the decision “unacceptable,” Mr. Vishnu warned that the YSRCP would escalate the matter if the government did not revoke the move.

“The YSRCP is committed to standing firm and will emerge stronger in the face of every injustice,” Vishnu concluded.
