Telangana Minister for Panchayati Raj D. Anasuya \u2018Seethakka\u2019 has said that the BJP is trying to bring in \u2018Manudharma\u2019 (rules of Manu) in India, in place of the Constitution.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar commemoration programme as part of \u2018Thrivarnotsavam\u2019, the month-long programme in connection with the opening of the new District Congress Committee Office in Kozhikode, on Tuesday (April 15, 2025), Ms. Anasuya said that if not for the Constitution, a tribal woman like her would not have become an MLA or Minister. \u201cBut our Constitution is now in danger, and we, the citizens, have a duty to protect it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She alleged that the BJP was trying to \u2018divide and rule\u2019 just like the British did by creating confusion and spreading misinformation. The Congress has begun a battle just like the one that it fought against the British, to \u2018recover\u2019 India, she said.<\/p>\n

Ms. Anasuya said Ambdekar did not live for himself but lived and died for the country. \u201cThe Congress will not allow anyone to insult Ambedkar,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
