Randeep Hooda<\/a> is known for a variety of his roles – be it ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ or his role in the American thriller Extortion<\/a>. The actor is currently seen in ‘Jaat‘ where he plays a baddie giving a tough competition to Sunny Deol<\/a>. Randeep is getting a lot of love for his performance in the film. However, in a recent interview, he’s admitted that he’s never got any appreciation from his own film fraternity. He got it from the south. The actor’s role in ‘Extortion’ was widely loved but he didn’t get any appreciation from people in Bollywood, may be perhaps because they are threatened by him.
The actor said in an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, “When I worked with filmmakers in Telugu cinema\u2026 many action directors had seen the film and wanted to emulate it. They even asked me how we did it in Extraction. That sense of respect is there. But nobody talked about it. Even for small roles in Hollywood films, people do so much campaigning, and others congratulate them.\u201d
He added, “I feel people feel threatened, and I didn\u2019t get appreciation from the film fraternity for any role \u2014 and I don\u2019t need it after a point. I\u2019m doing my work and trying to better myself, not compete with anyone. I appreciate myself. I don\u2019t know why people didn\u2019t appreciate me publicly, but I\u2019m not sad about it. When they meet me, they meet nicely and they call me, but they don\u2019t talk about it publicly. It happened during Highway too. I got many calls, but no one spoke about that role publicly. I also didn\u2019t get any big award for acting.\u201d
In the same interview, Randeep had also opened up on how he was completely sidelined during the promotions of ‘Highway’ and Ranbir Kapoor<\/a> was brought in to promote the film. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
