The iconic ‘notebook celebration’ is once again in the spotlight. Made famous by Virat Kohli, the celebration has resurfaced in IPL 2025, this time courtesy of Lucknow Super Giants’ leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi.
During LSG’s clash against Punjab Kings, Rathi pulled out the old-school ‘notebook celebration’ after dismissing Punjab opener Priyansh Arya in a high-stakes run chase.

Arya, who gained fame for hitting six sixes in the Delhi Premier League, was walking back to the pavilion when Rathi mimicked the famous gesture—holding out his left hand like a page and pretending to jot down a dismissal.
The move echoed the 2017 exchange between Kesrick Williams and Virat Kohli, which Kohli famously responded to during a T20I in Hyderabad in 2019.
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants posted 171/7 in 20 overs, with Nicholas Pooran scoring a crucial 44 and Ayush Badoni adding 41.

Prabhsimran Singh led the charge with a blistering 69 off 34 balls, while Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 52 alongside Nehal Wadhera, who contributed 43*.
Punjab Kings will now face Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
