Veteran South Korean actor Ahn Sung-ki has been hospitalised after suffering from cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul on December 30. As per reports, the 71-year-old actor collapsed as he was having his meal and is currently receiving treatment at the emergency unit of a hospital.
The actor is currently in a critical state and no details about his health have been released as of now.
The news of his hospitalisation comes years after his battle with cancer, for which he was diagnosed in 2019. He revealed about his cancer battle during an interview in 2022. Despite his illness, the actor continued to attend film festivals and events, getting praised for his dedication for the betterment of Korean film industry.
Ahn made his acting debut as a child in 1957 with the film, Twilight Train. Since then, he has appeared in over 200 films, including The Romantic President, Silmido, Radio Star, Two Cops, Hanbando, Unbowed and May 18.
