Uganda’s Frank Nsubuga bowls most economical four-over spell in T20 World Cup history | Cricket News – Times of India

Uganda‘s 43-year-old spinner Frank Nsubuga entered cricket record books by bowling the most economical four-over spell ever in the history of men’s T20 World Cup.
Nsubuga’s figures read 4 overs, 2 maidens, 4 runs and 2 wickets during Uganda’s Group C match in the T20 World Cup against Papua New Guinea at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Uganda dismissed half the PNG side for under 50 in the 11th over.Nsubuga’s first wicket came when he clean bowled Charles Amini for 5 and then sent back Hiri Hiri (15) lbw.
Uganda eventually bowled out PNG for 77 in 19.1 overs.

“My first big tournament, first World Cup and to finish with figures of 2 for 4, I’m still pinching myself,” said Nsubuga during the mid-innings break.
“The ball wasn’t coming on and I bowled on the slower side. We needed to bowl wicket-to-wicket…You just enjoy yourself, you never know what’s coming for you. I’m looking after the young boys, they’re looking after me,” said the 43-year-old.

Besides Nsubuga, Alpesh Ramani (2 for 17), Cosmas Kyewuta (2 for 17) and Juma Miyagi (2/10) also took two wickets each.
Uganda, who are making their T20 World Cup debut, got hammered by Afghanistan in their opening match of the tournament, while PNG had lost to co-hosts West Indies.
