The Prohibition and Excise Department officials conducted raids in Bayyannagudem, Kukunur and nearby villages, and arrested two persons on charge of supplying liquor at the doorstep of consumers.
The accused, identified as B. Nageswara Rao and N. Naresh, were procuring liquor stocks from Jangareddygudem and other areas, and selling it in the colonies on a four-wheeler. One more accused, Ravi Kumar, is absconding, the excise police said.
Following the directions of Director, Excise Enforcement, Rahul Dev Sharma, a team led by Eluru Excise Deputy Commissioner Sri Latha conducted raids in the villages on Tuesday, and seized the vehicle which was allegedly being used for ‘door delivery’ of liquor in the Agency habitations.
The excise officials seized two belt shops (unauthorised liquor outlets) and 22 liquor bottles.
