Tax evasion detected in ready-mix concrete units of State

The State Goods and Services Tax (GST) department has unearthed tax evasion worth ₹10 crore in ready-mix concrete units in Statewide inspections. The Intelligence and Enforcement wing of the department raided 49 centres, including offices and private residences, as part of the inspections titled Operation Rare Racoon. The units had hidden transactions worth ₹56 crore, thereby evading tax payments of ₹10 crore, the GST officials said.
