Former minister V. Sunil Kumar urged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to table the report of the commission on socio-economic and education survey (caste census), chaired by H. Kantharaj, during the ongoing legislature session.
On March 5, the BJP MLA pointed out that a sum of ₹165 crore had been spent on the report. “It is very sad that the report is yet to be made public. The Congress government gets Lokayukta to file a report within three months (on alleged scam in MUDA site allotment), but does not bother about Kantharaj report though two years have passed since the party came to power.”
He also urged the government to implement a system of earmarking budgetary funds for the welfare of OBCs on the lines of SCSP-TSP for SC/ST communities.
