Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin pays tribute to the portraits of Natarajan and Thalamuthu on the occasion of ‘Tamil Mozhi Thiyagigal Naal’ (Tamil language martyrs’ day) on Satuday

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has unveiled the renovated memorial of Tamil martyrs Natarajan and Thalamuthu, who sacrificed their lives to protect the Tamil language in the struggle against Hindi imposition in 1939.
The memorial renovated at a cost of ₹34 lakh at Moolakothalam was inaugurated by Mr. Stalin on Saturday (January 25), which is observed as ‘Tamil Mozhi Thiyagigal Naal’ (Tamil language martyrs’ day), as announced by the State government earlier.
Mr. Stalin also paid floral tributes to the portraits of Natarajan and Thalamuthu and social activist Dharmambal Ammaiyar.
He further announced that on the request of VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan, statutes of Natarajan and Thalamuthu would be installed at the Thalamuthu Natarajan Building in Egmore.
