Tamil Nadu is becoming an unsafe place for citizens due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, alleged BJP State president K. Annamalai on Thursday (March 13, 2025).

In a post on X, Mr. Annamalai expressed shock over the murder of a couple, who had been working as agricultural labourers, at Unjapalayam village near Avinashi in Tiruppur district. Referring to murders that took place in the last two years in Tiruppur district, Mr. Annamalai recalled that a family of three was brutally hacked to death in Semalai Goundenpalayam in 2024, but the perpetrators were not arrested yet. In 2023, a gang gained entry into a house near Palladam and killed four persons, he added.

“The law and order situation in Tamil Nadu has deteriorated to such an extent that murderers, without any fear, are gaining entry into houses and killing people. The safety of the public is under question. Recurring incidents of criminal activities such as sexual assault, murder, illegal usage of narcotic drugs, and burglary are making Tamil Nadu an uninhabitable State. The people have lost faith in Tamil Nadu police, whose hands are tied by the DMK government,” he alleged.
