The Forest Department conducted a “sweep” combing of the Infosys campus here on Friday in a bid to trace the presence of the leopard which was first sighted there in the early hours of December 31 last year.
The team comprised personnel drawn from the Leopard Task Force, the Elephant Task Force and the regular staff of the department. In all, 80 persons were part of the operation which covered the campus spread over 350 acres.
Deputy Conservator of Forests K.N. Basavaraj said there was no trace of the leopard or of its pug mark. Besides, its image had not been captured by the camera traps nor had it been sighted on the CCTV visuals.
Meanwhile, combing and monitoring is continuing in areas surrounding Infosys. The authorities said that one team of the Leopard Task Force would remain on Infosys campus while there would be continued monitoring of the camera traps and CCTV cameras.
