Several people were injured in a bee attack in the old Raj Bhavan area of Agartala on Saturday (December 14, 2024) afternoon. An on-duty traffic constable was among those wounded in the incident that caused panic in the locality.
Pedestrians, two-wheeler riders, and traffic policemen were suddenly swarmed by bees. Some of the injured were taken to the hospital with two being admitted to Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital and the rest receiving first aid treatment.
Doctors at the emergency wing of the hospital reported that most of the victims experienced minor swelling.
A resident of the old Raj Bhavan area in Kunjaban locality suggested that a disturbed beehive may have caused the aggressive attack. Police later confirmed that the area is now safe and there have been no further reports of bee attacks.
