Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay stone for new railway zone, green hydrogen projects in Visakhapatnam on January 8

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam on January 8, according to official sources. Mr. Modi is expected to land at the INS Dega airport, from where he will proceed to Andhra University engineering college grounds at about 3 p.m.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan will welcome Mr. Modi upon his arrival.

During the visit, Mr. Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone virtually for key projects such as NTPC’s Green Hydrogen Project and administrative buildings for the new railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters. He is scheduled to address a public meeting on the occasion.

Sources in the NTPC-Simhadri unit here on January 2, 2025 (Thursday) confirmed that they had received a communication regarding Mr. Modi’s visit to Visakhapatnam on January 8, and that they started preparations for the laying of the foundation stone for the Green Hydrogen Project.

“NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam on January 6 to monitor the arrangements,” the sources said.
