The police investigation into the disappearance of two higher secondary girls of Devadhar Government Higher Secondary School, Tanur, will continue as the incident has raised many questions even after the girls were traced and brought back from Mumbai.
The police said they were looking into the source of the money that reached the hands of the girls as well as the working of the beauty parlour in Mumbai where the girls reportedly had a makeover.
They said a team of officers would leave for Mumbai soon to investigate the Mumbai links in the girls’ disappearance. A man from Edavanna named A. Raheem, who allegedly helped the girls run away from home and accompanied them to Mumbai, was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
The police slapped different charges, including kidnapping, on him. They said they were investigating his connections in Mumbai.
