Amid escalating war of words between Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and BJP State president K. Annamalai, the latter on Friday (February 21, 2025) said the people of the State would βdethroneβ the DMK government soon.
βFor high handedness of one family, having a tainted cabinet, being an epicentre of corruption, turning a blind eye to lawlessness, turning Tamil Nadu into a haven for drugs and illicit liquor, mounting debt, dilapidated Education Ministry, precarious environment for women and children, divisive politics based on caste and religion, ceaseless failures in delivering good governance, flawed policies and not fulfilling electoral promises, this DMK led government in Tamil Nadu will be dethroned by the people soon,β Mr. Annamalai posted on X, with a hashtag βGetOutStalinβ.
The heated exchange between the leaders came against the backdrop of the ongoing tussle between the Centre and Tamil Nadu over the non-release of funds under the Samagra Shiksha scheme and the three-language policy stipulated by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Members of the DMK took to X on Thursday (February 20, 2025) to start a βGet Out Modiβ campaign, following which the BJP launched the βGet Out Stalinβ campaign on Friday.
