Officers Committee of A.P. and Telangana discuss pending bilateral issues

The first meeting of the Officers Committee of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana on Bilateral Issues met at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Monday (December 2, 2024). Chief Secretaries Neerabh Kumar Prasad (A.P.) and A. Santhi Kumari (Telangana) led the respective governments.

The meeting came against the backdrop of the talks which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had with his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy in July 2024.

According to an official release, the committee discussed 15 pending issues in detail and took stock of the stands taken by the two States. They agreed upon the need to resolve the issues expeditiously for 10 years have elapsed since bifurcation. They noted that there was unanimity on the way forward in respect of many issues and some issues needed further deliberations.

Therefore, the committee asked the departments concerned on both sides to fully reconcile their data and place the same in the next meeting.

Apart from the Chief Secretaries, M. Ravi Chandra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, and Principal Secretary (Finance) Peeyush Kumar represented A.P. Special CS (Finance) K. Rama Krishna Rao and Principal Secretary to CM V. Seshadri represented the Telangana government.
