The death of contractor Sachin Panchal in Bhalki took a new turn on Friday night (December 27, 2024) with BJP leaders creating a ruckus before Kalaburagi Police Station on Friday night urging them to Register an FIR against former Councillor Rajkumar Kapnoor who has been accused of conspiracy to kill a seer and three BJP leaders.

Finally after three hours, the Police relented and filed an FIR for non-cognisable offence against Mr. Kapnoor and his associates. But, that was after a high drama before the Station Bazaar Police station in Kalaburagi on Friday night, after the police officials declined the BJP leader’s demand to register (FIR), based on the purported death note of contractor Sachin Panchal, in which he mentioned that Mr. Kapnoor was conspiring to kill a religious head and three BJP leaders including a legislator.

On Friday night, the BJP leaders including MLA Basavaraj Mattimod, BJP urban district unit president Chandrakant Patil, BJP rural unit president Shivaraj Patil Raddewadagi, former MLA Rajkumar Patil Telkur, former MLC Amaranth’s Patil along with their supporters created a ruckus in the Station Bazar police station when the police officer refused to file FIR against Mr. Kapnoor and others.

A heated argument broke out between MLA Mattimod and police sub-inspector Shakeel Angadi, when the former asked reasons for denying to register FIR and demanded to give the same in writing. Accusing the police officials of favouring the criminals, the BJP leaders expressed that they would approach the judicial magistrate and file a complaint.

After three-long hour arguments between BJP leaders and the police, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (North Sub-Division) G. Chandrashekar visited the police station to gather the information in connection with the case, relented a bit and finally registered complaint of non-cognisable (NC) offence against Mr. Kapnoor and his associates.
