Shivamogga
Nam Team, a theatre troupe in Shivamogga, will stage the play Vasanthasene, based on Shudraka’s Mrucchakatika, at Kuvempu Rangamandira in Shivamogga on Sunday at 5.30 p.m.
H.U. Vaidyanath, a senior photojournalist and theatre enthusiast, has directed the play. He chose N.S. Lakshminarayana Bhat’s translation of the play for theatre adaptation. Srikanth Kalamanji has composed music.
Mr. Vaidyanath said he had been planning to direct the play for a long time. He could fulfil his dream with the support of artists and members of the Nam Team. Earlier, he directed Mote Ramana Upavasa, Sadarame, Andhayuga, and Havu Eni plays.
Honnali Chandrashekhar of Nam Team said that the organisers had also invited reviews of the play from the audience. The best reviews would be rewarded, he added.
