Minister reviews arrangements for ‘Thai Poosam’ festival at Vadalur

Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare M.R.K. Panneerselvam on Saturday (January 25, 2025) reviewed the preaparatory arrangements to be undertaken for the Thai Poosam festival, scheduled from February 10 to 13 at Sathya Gnana Sabha in Vadalur in Cuddalore district.

According to official sources, basic amenities like drinking water and 87 toilets and high mast lamps with dust bins have been made available in Vadalur. CCTVs have been installed at 58 places across Vadalur to ensure safety of visitors. The police have also set up watchtowers at intersections and busy stretches of the town.

Mr. Panneerselvam said medical teams, including doctors and ambulances, will be deployed round-the-clock at the premises till the festival draws to a close. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will also be operating special buses from various parts of the State to Vadalur, he said.

Jyothi Darshan

The Jyothi Darshan in Vadalur is considered as a special event by the followers of the Sathya Gnana Sabha, because on that day all the seven screens of different hues in the Sabha would be removed one after another to reveal the holy lighted lamp kept in the sanctum sanctorum.
