Mega job fair across multiple centres in Alappuzha on Feb. 15

As part of the Vijnana Keralam campaign, a mega job expo will be held at various venues in Alappuzha on February 15.

The job fair, organised jointly by Alappuzha District Panchayat and other local bodies in the district will be held at SD College, SDV College, University Information Centre and Government Upper Primary School, Kalarcode.

For candidates who are unable to reach Alappuzha on February 15, online interviews will be held on February 14. Candidates can attend online interviews from their respective district centres.

Speaking to media persons in Alappuzha on Monday, former Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said that around 100 employers would interview candidates directly on February 15 to fill job openings in their respective companies.

Dr. Isaac said that 4,37,522 job opportunities are available in the job expo. Among these, 1.25 lakh jobs are part of the Union government’s internship and apprenticeship schemes. As many as 2,80,463 jobs are with companies like LinkedIn, Foundit and Hamara with an annual income of ₹5 lakh. Those applying to jobs in these companies should have 2-5 years of work experience.

Companies like L&T GeoStructure, Quess Corp, SFO Technologies, Bridge, Taj Hotels, Muthoot Microfinance, LIC, IHNA and others are also offering several job opportunities in the IT and other sectors. Nursing graduates have 2,000 opportunities in countries like Germany and Australia.

Those wishing to apply for jobs should first register on the portal of the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS), using the link knowledgemission.kerala.gov.in. The interview location and time will be notified via WhatsApp and email by the Vijnana Keralam Alappuzha Project Management Unit.

Dr. Isaac said that job stations had been established in all blocks and municipalities to assist in registering on DWMS or finding and applying for suitable jobs. In addition, facilitation centres have been set up in all local self-government institutions, with community ambassadors serving as convenors.

He said that apart from organising job fairs, Vijnana Keralam was planning to organise Vijnana Keralam Skill Development campaign for final-year students in educational institutions. “The aim is to secure employment for students by the time they complete their exams. Around five lakh students are expected to participate in skill training, which will begin in August this year. As a precursor, a pilot project involving 25,000 students will be launched in the third week of February,” Dr. Isaac said.

Alappuzha District Panchayat president K.G. Rajeshwari, District Panchayat Development Standing Committee Chairperson Binu Isaac Raju and others attended the press meet.
