A 35-year-old man, Praveen Gowda, was found dead near Anekal on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Before ending his life, he shared a disturbing video on Facebook in which he accused several individuals, including a local BJP leader, of mental and physical harassment.
The Anekal police have registered an FIR and launched a probe. In the video, the deceased alleged that he had been subjected to two months of mental torment by individuals identified as Kiran Gowda, Harish, Bhaskar Narayanappa, Doddahagade Madhu Gowda, and Saravana.
He held Mr. Kiran Gowda primarily responsible and urged authorities to take stringent action against him.
He also named BJP Mandal president Muniraju Gowda, local councillor Bhagyamma, and her husband Srinivas, alleging that they physically assaulted him. He alleged that he was invited to Mr. Muniraju’s residence under the pretense of a discussion over a financial dispute.
However, once there, Ms. Bhagyamma and Mr. Srinivas reportedly summoned others who beat him up for nearly two hours and confiscated his phone.
Shortly after making the allegations public through the video, Mr. Gowda ended his life near a school in Anekal. (Those in distress or having suicidal tendencies can seek help from Arogya Sahayavani on Ph. No. 104.)
